Rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs) are ideal for whale watching due to their exceptional stability, maneuverability, and safety. Their lightweight design and powerful engines allow them to quickly reach and follow whales and dolphins without disturbing them. Their inflatable collars offer additional buoyancy and shock absorption, making them highly resilient and safe even in rough sea conditions. The inflatable collar also helps to deflect spray, keeping passengers dry and comfortable. Unlike big, slower whale-watching boats, RHIBs provide a more intimate and immersive experience, allowing for closer encounters with marine life and faster access to their natural habitats reducing travel time and maximizing time with wildlife.
So worth it! It was a fun yet relaxing experience, the zodiac boat was comfortable, for 6 people (7 including Captain Nate). We saw a gray whale and later “played” with the dolphins. Our girls loved the experience and can’t wait to do it again in Summer!
